FAQ
What size Judo suit should I buy?
Judo suits are sized by height in centimetres. For example, a 140cm Judo gi is designed for someone approximately 135–145cm tall. If your child is between sizes, we usually recommend sizing up for comfort and growth.
What’s the difference between a beginner and competition Judo suit?
Beginner Judo suits are lighter weight and ideal for training or first-time students. Competition Judo gis are heavier (often 500g+), more durable and designed for grading and tournaments.
Do Judo suits come with a belt?
Many of our beginner Judo suits include a white belt, but some competition models do not. Please check the product description for full details.
Are these Judo suits suitable for grading?
Yes, our Judo uniforms are suitable for club training and grading. We stock trusted brands used by UK clubs nationwide.
How quickly will my Judo suit be delivered?
We are based in Lancashire, UK and dispatch from UK stock. Standard delivery is £3.99, with free delivery on orders over £70.
Can I return or exchange my Judo gi if the size is wrong?
Yes. If your Judo suit doesn’t fit, you can return or exchange it in line with our returns policy. We recommend checking our size guide before ordering.
Judo Suit Buying Guide
What Weight Judo Suit Should I Choose?
Judo suits are measured by fabric weight (often shown in grams per square metre, e.g. 250g, 350g, 500g).
- 250–450g – Ideal for beginners and children starting training. Lightweight and comfortable.
- 500g+ – Heavier competition Judo suits, more durable and suitable for regular training and grading.
If you’re buying a Judo suit for a child starting classes, a lightweight beginner Judo gi is usually best. For older students or competition use, a heavier 500g Judo suit offers better durability.
How Should a Judo Gi Fit?
A Judo suit should fit comfortably without being restrictive.
- Sleeves should reach close to the wrist but not cover the hands.
- Trousers should sit at the ankle.
- The jacket should wrap securely without excessive overlap.
Judo suits are sized by height in centimetres. If your child is between sizes, consider sizing up slightly to allow for growth.
What’s Included in a Judo Suit?
Most beginner Judo suits include:
- Jacket
- Trousers
- White belt
However, competition Judo gis may not include a belt. Always check the product description to confirm what’s included.
Which Judo Suit Is Best for Beginners?
For first-time students, we recommend:
- Lightweight Judo suits (350–450g)
- Comfortable fit
- Easy-to-wash cotton fabric
If your club has specific requirements, check with your instructor before buying.
