Taekwondo Belts

In taekwondo, belt colours represent a student's level of progression. The order typically runs from white (beginner) through yellow, green, blue and red before reaching black belt. Some clubs use additional colours or stripes to mark intermediate grades. The exact order can vary slightly between ITF and WT taekwondo organisations and individual clubs.

Taekwondo belts are sized by waist measurement or overall length, typically ranging from size 1 (children) through to size 5 or 6 (larger adults). As a general guide, wrap the belt around your waist twice — it should tie at the front with both ends reaching roughly mid-thigh. Yes — most of our taekwondo grading belts are compatible with both ITF and WT taekwondo clubs. Belt colour requirements are largely consistent across both organisations, though we recommend checking with your instructor if you are unsure which specification your club requires.

Yes — we stock taekwondo black belts in adult and junior sizes. Black belts are available as standard solid black belts for 1st Dan and above. If you require an embroidered or graded Dan belt, please contact us and we will do our best to assist.
